Campaign Performance - "She is abused"
Today was the day of our performance. We had to perform to around 40 year 11 students. We performed in the David Sharp Theatre. I think that our performance was good because it got the message across to our audience and because the people that watched the performance they thought it was good and clear. Also some of the people in the audience told there friends and family about our performance. I think that people are more aware of abuse because it can get serious at times and people can get hurt very much or even die. In our performace we were showing our audience about 3 different issues that can happen to some of the students in our school. One was about a girl that is being forced to wear a scarf by her mother and is being abused by her mother because she takes her scarf off in school. Another issue we were looking at was about 2 twins called Sonia and Sally and Sonia is fat and the Sally is anorecsic because her mother doesn't feed her enough food. There mother abuses Sally and Sonia is witnessing her mother abusing Sally. The final issue we were looking at was about a video vixen that is treated unfairly and gets fired from her job because she complains about the other video vixen.

Campaign Journal
In todays lesson in our group we were disguising what questions to ask the audience for our voting system. Cara is going to be the joker who will ask these questions to the audience. We also decided that we will have around 60 people in the audience.

In todays lesson we were doing the campaign PLTs and Miss Burgess told us to finish the campaign worksheets for homework. She also told us to do a homework on researching 1 theatre in education company.

Campaign Journal
Today we were working on our performances and we were fixing the first 2 scenes. My group done the classroom scene as the first scene. Before we done that scene second but we changed it. We done the music video scene for our second scene so that it would make more sense about the plot. We had the music video scene first before but we decided to change it. We got homework today. Our homework is to write some essays about our campaign.

We had a similar lesson to the one we had on the 17th January 2011. This time we done movements with our mobile numbers. We worked on our own and then with a partner.

Campaign Journal
We had a dramatic lesson today so we can think about how to make the message of our campaign across to the target audience. We had to spell our names in different movements. After that miss put us into pairs and then we had to learn eachothers movements. We had to perform them in front of the whole class. We also looked at a poem that Tracy Chattman wrote"Behind the doors". We had to pick 3 sentances of the poem and make 3 freeze frames and add transition in between them. We performed it to the whole class and performed it in two different types of music and see how our body language and facial expressions change along with the atmosphere.

Campaign Journal
Today in lesson Alex came in again to help us with our performances. We were practicing the scene that we have done so far. Cara and Shapla didn't come into lesson today. We were rehearsing the scenes that needed improvement. We were also disusing the space we are going to used and were we are going to perform. We said that if we perform in school we are going to perform in the David Sharp Theatre. We also said that we want to perform next year in March.

Campaign Journal
Today Alex came in again and we rehearsed our scenes. He told us to act out one of the scene in our group in one of the corners of the room and then we performed it to the class. We did the scene with me, Suma and Cara in it. It was the scene was I get slapped by Suma and Cara is the dad that doesn't care about what, I his daughter wears a scarf or not. This were violence is first seen in the whole performance.

Alex came in again and we carried on rehearsing our performances. We rehearsed some scenes that we didn't do before. We were rehearsing mine and Suma's scene a lot because in that scene Suma is the mum and I am the daughter and Cara is the dad who doesn't care what his daughter does. Suma slaps me because I talk back to her about wearing my scarf.

Campaign Journal
Today miss put us into groups because next lesson we are going to start with the campaign unit properly. We were planning what we will do for the performances. We had to think of what our topic will be and my group thought of video vixens and how they are treated in music video's that nobody knows about. It's also about school children that tell there story about them getting abused by there parents because of different reasons and they say that they want to be a video vixen because they get a lot of attention. We are going to do a music video scene for the first part of our performance. Our campaign name that we all came up with is "She is abused".

Today in lesson it was "presentation day". We had to present our power point to the whole class. In my group it was Tanjina, Rubina and me. Our presentation was about NHS Smoke Free. Everyone else presented there's except Abigail's group because some people from her group weren't in school.

In today's lesson miss put us into groups of 4/5. She gave us a piece of card that has a statement that we have to argue about. On my groups one it said that "Men should be allowed to wear skirts". We had to campaign for it. In our performance Shapla, Sabrina and Zara were the models for the show. I had to be the audience that like men wearing skirts. Tiyonne had to say that men shouldn't be wearing skirts.

Campaign Journal
In today's lesson Ms Burgess put us into groups and gave us a newspaper to look for an article and read it and understand it. Then she told us to pick out a couple of sentence and write it on a paper. After that she told us to read them out one by one. Then Ms asked us to make 3 freeze frames by picking 3 of the sentences out of all of the sentences that everyone had chosen. After making the freeze frames we had to pick one of them and think of words or sentences that, which character would feel. My words were angry, knife, hurt. She deserves it anyway and strangle. The one we picked was the one were Rubina was getting attacked by 4 people me, Suma and Shapla were strangling her and Moushami was stabbing her. We all practised them and all 4 of the groups showed the whole class what they and we came up with. In the beginning of the lesson we played warm up games.

Today we were put into groups of 3s and worked in a team to prepare a power point presentation to present to the whole class. Our power point is about the NHS smoking. We have to look through there website and find out what they do and how they help us in the world. We have to present our power point to the class by next lesson. We didn't finish completing the power point so we’re going to finish it at home.

Campaign Journal
In today's lesson we were starting our new unit called campaign as this was the first lesson with ms burgess. We started planning out the potential campaign topics. We also said what we think campaign the word actually means. I thought campaign meant purpose because without a purpose you wouldn't have a campaign. We also talked about what we want our campaign to be about. Most of us said it should be about women/ladies because that’s what we are.
